The career in Engineering through formal classroom teaching and practical field exposure. To provide opportunities to students to evolve as practitioners, the role they will eventually play as responsible members of society and profession. In this context the Engineers are required to be equipped with appropriate skills, understanding & knowledge and also deep commitment to professed ideals. Further the program aims at attaining a high level of excellence in Engineering that forms the core of the program with supportive inputs from other subjects.

Eligibility

Usually, the minimum eligibility for the course is 10+2 with subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Math. English is also a mandatory subject for eligibility in many of the universities and colleges. However, VTU requires an aggregate of 55% for the general category candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates. The basic eligibility for admission in any of the Engineering Colleges is 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Math along with English. However, this is not the only criteria for admission; the students have to take an entrance exam in order to prove themselves fit for the admission in any of the Engineering colleges. The major entrance exams are CET Exam and COMEDK Exam.

The Engineering industry is very large and around 14 million jobs are in the India only. The career is divided at the level of your education in the Engineering field.
