Medical Courses

The healthcare industry is one of the booming industries in the country. The rapid development in this sector is fast becoming a hub for lucrative job opportunities and a promising career. A majority of the Class 12 graduates sit for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in order to become a doctor or a dentist. Very few know about medical courses that one can pursue after Class 12. Since the medical industry is growing several new opportunities have emerged which are equally worth pursuing. Due to insufficient information on these alternatives, PCB CB students more often engage themselves into the groundwork for MBBS and BDS education. AYUSH courses are one of the biggest alternatives as it is emerging as a replacement of the allopathy. Admission to AYUSH courses will be done on the basis of NEET scores only.

Eligibility

Usually, the minimum eligibility for the course is 10+2 with subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. English is also a mandatory subject for eligibility in many of the universities and colleges. However, AIIMS requires an aggregate of 60% for the general category candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates. The basic eligibility for admission in any of the Medical Colleges is 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology along with English. However, this is not the only criteria for admission; the students have to take an entrance exam in order to prove themselves fit for the admission in any of the medical colleges. The major entrance exams are AIIMS Entrance Exam and NEET Exam.
